Hello, I’m the mommy to a very special little boy named Chaim Mordechai (Motty.)
He was born with a heart defect. Just days after he was born, our tiny baby went in for heart surgery. We were told that the procedure was successful, and that he would be a normal boy.
Four months went by, and things were no longer normal. His heart collapsed. We were told he would not survive. They told us to say goodbye.
BARUCH HASHEM, he made it. For four months, our baby was in a hospital bed, hooked up to a respirator. He was in so much pain. During that time, gangrene set in in his limbs. His right hand had to be amputated, and the fingers of his left hand were clipped.
Nowadays, Motty has terrible eating disorders. He is also partially blind. His left side is paralyzed. He can only stand for short periods of time. We are majorly struggling to afford his expensive monthly treatments.
He needs his therapies so that he can be the most basic level of functional. To eat, to breathe, to walk. We wish we could afford to get him a prosthetic hand, so that he can write, draw, and pick things up like other little boys can.
Please, help us to continue to afford our sweet little boy’s treatments, so that he can get the help he so desperately needs. Thank you and tizku l’mitzvos!!!!
